 Jaggery Besan Ladoo 

This healthy Besan Ladoo, made without sugar... is so delicious and absolutely  guilt free sweet which can be enjoyed without worrying about those extra calories. 

This is one of my favourite ladoos of all. I just love it but unfortunately do not make it quite often. So this Diwali I thought to start my Diwali snacks preparation using this delicious and yummy Besan Ladoos.

Besan or gram flour is a versatil  ingredient to prepare a number of varied dishes. Along with being rich in protein, it is also a gluten-free option for those who prefer their kids to be gluten-free. It also helps in building muscles which is needed for those growing bodies.

What Is Besan Ladoo?

Besan ladoo is a semi soft fudge or sweet ball made of roasted chickpea flour, jaggery and ghee.

This is a dry dish, and is hence ideal for carrying when you travel. This recipe does not include sugar but jaggery as a sweetener as jaggery has health benefits and also does not cause problems which sugar might. 1 Sieve besan flour to ensure there are no lumps.

INGREDIENTS
• ½ cup clarified butter / ghee
• 2 cup besan / gram flour, coarse
• 1 1/2 cup jaggery 
• 6 cardamom pods 
• 2 tbsp cashew chopped

Method;
• In a heavy bottom pan  heat ½ cup ghee and add 2 cup besan/ gram flour.
• Roast on low flame until the besan is well combined with ghee. 
• Keep roasting  on low flame. if the mixture turns dry, add a tbsp of more ghee.
• After  20 minutes, the besan starts to release ghee.keep roasting until the besan turns golden brown it may take approximately 30 minutes.
• Once you get the golden brown colour,      reduce the heat to low and add jaggery, mix and let it melt completely turn off the flame.
• Take the mixture on a plate and let it cool for 5 minutes but make sure that the mixture doesn't come to room temperature.

• Grease your palm with ghee and shape up the Ladoos, pressing cashew to each laddu .
• Store them  in the airtight container.
