Semiya or Vermicelli Upma

Every homemaker or mom’s biggest challenge is decision making, about what to make for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What is it that apart from being nutritious, filling, and healthy, is liked and enjoyed by the family at the same time? Quite a tough choice, right?

Especially in this Covid situation, when you don’t have the luxury of having a full-fledged pantry nor the ability to run to the nearest supermarket and buy those last-minute ingredients. I prefer to fix my breakfast with some easy and filling breakfast like Rava Upma or Vermicelli Upma which is easy to make and very filling with loads of vegetables in it. Most importantly my daughter thinks it's s spaghetti pasta and eat it with a joy 😉

Upma is a popular South Indian breakfast dish. There are varieties of upma and I love all types of upma because they are very quick to prepare and also very delicious. Fortified with vegetables they make a meal by itself. Vegetable Semiya upma and is one of my favorite dishes.

This Semiya Upma recipe is made by using vermicelli and vegetables.
It is a versatile dish that can be served as breakfast and even brunch. Throw in some veggies to make it filling. It is best served hot, accompanied by a hot cup of tea or coffee.
