Sunflower seeds will always have a fond spot in my memory because I remember eating them, roasted and salted, from the shell as a child- a small pile of discarded sunflower seed shells forming beside me.
This small but mighty seed is filled to the brim with nutrients. A healthy dose of magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, folate as well as essential fats and Vitamins A, B, and E.
Let's jump to the recipe!!
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup any dried fruits of your choice
(I have used raisins)
1/2 cup sun Butter
3 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Method:
. In a small saucepan, heat the sweetener and SunButter stirring frequently until melted and smooth.
. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the oats, dried fruit, cinnamon, and salt.
. Put it in a square shape container and cut it like a bar. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm and Enjoy!
. Keep in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
